What our guests say about us…
Our experience here was nothing short of classical, romantic and wonderful!!! We stayed in 2 different rooms to experience the hotel, firstly overlooking the lagoon and secondly a cabin overlooking the ocean. We had the most fabulous gourmet dinner I can recall having in a long time in the stunning historic dining room. All the staff, from the receptionist, the servers and the housekeepers were all so very accommodating and pleasant to deal with. We danced on the deck, tanned on the wharf and listened to the ocean splashing onto the shore from our ridiculously cute, romantic room. If you are looking for a great, old fashioned treasure of a vacation spot, then this is your place! We will be back, thank you for the fabulous, most memorable time!!

Pacific Northwest Treasure
The Capt. Whidbey is exactly what you would expect from a rustic landmark hotel. I could best compare it to Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood or a variety of hotels in Yellowstone Park. It is well kept, clean, comfortable, homey and quaint. Great personable staff and world class view of Penn Cove perfect for Orca watching.

Charming, Romantic, and Rare...
This beautiful old Inn was such a pleasant surprise. It really surpassed my expectations! I had looked and even made several phone calls to other Inns and B&Bs that were originally my first choices, but they were unavailable. So glad that they were! The setting, and ambiance for this Inn is so rare and wonderful. It's situated on Penn Cove, nestled amongst the woods. One side faces the Cove, the back side faces a pretty lagoon. The main Inn is over 100 years old and has a nostalgic feel. I loved the two dinners I had there. The steak filet was excellent as well as the salmon. If you like a lot of amenities and crave Park Avenue and upscale living, this may not be for you. However, if you crave nature and the timeless beautiful of a log cabin in the woods, you will love this place.
I've already made reservations for the next visit!

The owners are very friendly. We could have walked the grounds all day, there is so much to see. We rented a cabin, it was charming. We will be back! We are traveling across country on our motorcycle. We traveled out of our way to stay here and were not disappointed. The bridge was a great picture spot! Many trails to explore. The flower garden was peaceful and pretty.

Wonderful Lodge Off the Beaten Path
We had two adjoining cabins, looking out over the bay. The view was amazing. My wife and children went for a hike on Fort Ebey and I stayed behind and read my book "The Boys in the Boat." Out on the deck, all I could hear were leaves landing on the deck or some crows chasing a bald eagle who took their baby. For hour of bliss and relaxing, Captain Whidbey is the best.
